We’re a semi-large family living in Colorado after moving from Michigan in July, 2008. We consist of Mom (that’’s me), Dad, and 5 kids. To protect the identity of our children, we are using fake names based on their personalities. So from oldest to youngest we have:
The Pro – Our 16 year old girl who has been in sports since the sixth grade. We’ve watched her play basketball, softball, volleyball and track. Who knows what’’s next?
Pop Queen – Our 12 year old (going on 21) daughter. She likes friends, fashion, music and all that is trendy. Shares a room with The Pro. Can you imagine what that room is like??
Shortcake – Our sweet, sensitive 10 year old daughter. Likes to wear dresses, have her hair done. And loves to sing.
Smartie – Our smart, independent 6 year old daughter. (Yes, another one.) Too smart for her own good (and mine too). Very fun loving and happy. Is very put out by The King (see next)
The King – Yes, as I’m sure you guessed, this is our only boy. He’s currently 16 months, growing fast and adored by all! He’s a demanding baby boy, who wants constant attention and usually gets it!
Then there’s Me and Dad. I’m an old-fashioned kind of gal. I believe in taking care of my family, serving God and my husband. Though I work full time as a graphic designer, my family always comes first. I’m a goofy, caring lady and hope to some day be back as a SAHM. Dad is a personal trainer (used to be an autocad designer, but hated it), hands-full-of-estrogen, glad-to-have-a-son, man who is committed to providing for his family the best he can. We don’t have much money, but we’re rich in love, and rich in fun.
That’s us in a nutshell. I decided to blog about our family life for several reasons.
To keep or non-local family members updated on our doings
To share and learn from other moms (to make sure we’re as normal as the rest of the world)
To document our life in word form (I hear you can turn your blog posts into a book now. How cool is that?)
